What is the Paid Internship program?
It is one of the exchange programs in the USA and an opportunity for paid work abroad within your profession or area of study.
Who are these programs for?
These programs are for foreign nationals at least 18 years of age.
Can the internship or trainee program to the United States be done without an agency?
No, these programs are directly regulated by the US Department of State and only authorized agencies can be used for these programs.
Can participants travel after completing their internship or trainee program?
Yes, participants are granted a period of 30 days after the end of their program to travel within the United States. After these 30 days, the participant must return to their home country.
If the participant has a B-2 visa (Tourist Visa), is it necessary to apply for the J-1 Internship / Trainee visa?
Yes, the tourist visa prohibits any type of activity for which the participant receives remuneration, benefit or gain. Therefore, all participants must apply for the J-1 visa and demonstrate good academic performance, commitment, and roots in their country of origin.
Is the participant guaranteed to obtain the J-1 visa?
No, the consuls of the US Embassy have the right to approve or deny the visa for whatever reasons. XCHANGE BRIDGE is not responsible in the event of visa refusal. However, we provide the participant with recommendations to complete the application forms, and prepare the participant in order to be successful with the process.
Can participants have a second job?
You are not allowed to have a second job during this program.
Is there an age limit to participate in the Internship program?
This is the only program in the USA for people over 30! You can participate up to 35 years of age.
Is it necessary to have university studies to participate?
Not necessarily. You can qualify without being a student or graduate, as long as you can demonstrate 5 years of experience in positions related to hospitality, culinary or tourism.
Can you qualify for the program without knowing English?
No, this program requires that participants have an intermediate or higher level of English.
